hey guys i have a cold start problem.

it turns over but it can't idle, it sometimes dies right away, so i end up bliping the gas a bit to raise the idle and than slowly bring it back down again otherwise it would die. this only happens when its cold and when the car is not warm. otherewise it has no problem starting and idling when the car is warm or when the weather is warm.

can anyone help me out??

btw. its a 89 ka24e sohc. 5spd

i would suspect the air regulator. the ar supplies more air when it is cold.

there is a pic of air regulator near the end of the following thread:

yours is a little bit different. regardless, squeeze the air supply to air regulator when cold or if possible disconnect air reg. to see if it makes a difference when cold. if it is working, you should experience even harderstarting,
