i have a 1990 240sx with a redtop sr20det that wont start in any kind of cold weather. i have changed the coolant temperature sensor, battery, and checked for various things that could be wrong. i have no idea were to go from here and i have no way to get to work so any help would be greatly appreciated thanks..

How is your timing? I know it might be a stupid question, but it'll be worth it to take a look at it. Also maybe try cleaning your injectors and spark plugs.

Check voltage to fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator sometimes they get stuck or go bad which would cause a similar problem, change fuel filter. If you run the car on empty a lot the crap in the tank can clog the sock ,fuel filter and cause the pump to go bad just some suggestions.

Make sure the orange wire is connected under the dash and has power when the key is in the START position. This activates a starting map in the ecu.

You are saying cold start problem, have you been able to start the car by push-start? The orange cable is #34 on the ECU, It's fused, you should check the fuse. Have you taken the CAS out and spin it with the injectors out to see if they put out any fuel, when you put the key switch to the ON position do you hear your fuel pump start? When was the last time you started the car and when was the last time you checked timing?

well i have noticed its not only just a cold start problem its all the time and yes the car does run fine when i push start it. i can hear the fuel pump turn on (its a walboro 255). and i started it one week ago by push start. and timing is good already been checked. but i have not yet checked for the fuse were would it be located??

So let me get this traight. You said you started your car a week ago by push started yet you recently found didn't have power on the orange wire? That's weird. But I think it's something to do with your battery/alternator/starter.

yes i recently went through some of my wiring which was completely hacked by the previous owner and there was no power going to the orange ignition signal wire pin 34 going to my ecu so i rewired it and still nothing. also i did replace the battery and ran it to the back of my car and everyhting there is working just fine, when i try to start the car it just turns and turns until i finally just give up so i dont think that its my starter but ill check just in case. any other suggestions i shouold look at

I'm in Mass too. So if you want I can take a look at it and if I fix it you pay me and If I don't fix it you don't pay. If it's a quick find/fix you only pay me gas???

during the cold start i don't gas it, but when it starts running i smell fuel, like if it were flooded.
