My son and I took a interstate trip about 2 hr ride and it was cold out so the heat was going and my son keeps telling me he is cold. WTF the kids got shorts on and I told him he was crazy. Well when there wasn't any cars around I let him hold the wheel and felt around the pass. floor vent and sure enough the air was cold.

Any problem areas to look for? all the controls feel fine with about the right resistance. I flipped the recirculate fresh air switch several times with no change.Any Ideas? I wont get to dig into it till Sat. so any suggestions appreciate.

Do you have a bad thermostat?

Does the air blow hot from the other vents?

Maybe the heater core is clogged and not circulating hot water from block to the core or it is disconnected because of leak. How long have you had truck? if this is first cold weather since you got the truck pop the hood and make sure heater hoses are not removed cause of leaking core. I know folks who did that to put off buying and installing a heater core.

Thanks guys for the responses, All the other ducts work fine and heat even blows on the pass. side. The cold air is blowing deep on the pass floor back past where the heat blows out. Still have not had a chance to look at it working twelves.

Do you think you mght have a hole in the firewall and that the air is coming in for out side. I had a truck that someone tried to run some wires inside and they messed up a grommit and air was coming in lke that. you might check that out too. Good luck.
