cold engine and whooshing noise

so i went out and drove my z hard the other night down hwy9. its a good mountainish road and it was probably about 40 degrees out last night. so im driving the car pretty hard and i look down and my temp gauge is very low. it looks as if the car hadn't been warmed up yet. when i assure you it had been warmed up fine. this has happened to me only one time before and again i was driving it hard on a cool night. i was a little alarmed however i finished the run and got back to the house and the engine was cool to the touch, and i drove it some more and it took a bit to warm up. ive also noticed a faint whooshing noise thats rpm dependent and it sounds as if my fan is moving with my rpms. i haven't had a overheating issue at all could it be a fan clutch? or am i just being paranoid?

nevermind looked into it more. fan clutch is siezed. replacing soon.
