Tis a bit of an old thread, but since I'm new here, it's new to me.

I hope you found the kit that makes you happy. But besides my Frontier, I own a Dodge with a Cummins. It can be very beneficial especially for a diesel. But have you considered this.

There are many intakes calling themselves a Cold Air Intake (CAI). If you take it as it should be, a true CAI, your original intake is a true cold air intake. The ones I've seen, as K&N, aFe and such, when the air is drawn into the intake, it pulls air from inside the engine compartment. So when the engine s warm, you really have a warm air intake.

The real CAI draws air from the inner fender well at a minimum AND through a snout that it's inlet is from outside the engine compartment. My Dodge CAI is made by S&B, and draws from the inner fender and through a snout, from under the front bumper, outside the engine compartment. A true CAI.

If you are not finding what you really want, there are homemade systems that people have made using parts from HomeDepot and Lowes Home Centers. They drill a hole in the bottom of the original air box, find and install a flange, usually from the PVC pipe area, drop a tube or PVC pipe if you have the room to under the fender. In this case, I would look for flex pipe/tubing. Secure to the vehicle and your good to go. Some with the diesel sites have done it for between $40 to $60. The one problem to consider, if your running it real hard, it will pull the air in from the path of least resistance, the inner fender first. But then it can pull from the lower inlet. You should stay out of water puddles and rivers. Water can be an issue, so you only have to easy up on running it hard until the rain over. So far I have never had any issue with my diesel.

Just a though, but hope you find / found what you need for your truck.
