i was thinking, isn't the air intake sort of covered by the front nose panel right? can you like sort of extend the piping a little downwards so the pop charger gets more air? or i am just crazy here?

Unless you are putting a pre filter on it, I wouldn't have it to where all of the bugs, dust, water, etc goes straight at the filter

It gets plenty of cool air as it is, no need to make a CAI, it already is ;)

Technically, it is a CAI. CAI means its not in the engine bay pulling in hot air, its in a location that pulls in cool air, whether it be in a fender, bumper, etc.

Most people add a cone filter to remove the more restrictive OEM airbox, which in turns make the car breathe better, more power, more efficient.

PLacing the filter too low starts creating issues for the engine, mainly turbulent issues, also debris issue as well. There are ways to deter this, the flower pot method is the more popular choice. Just do research before doing anything. MOst of the drivers will put a JWT on the car and be done.

You're right, my brain was more towards the open air/cold air intake
