I have a 98 Infiniti I30, just installed a reg intake with a KN filter. I don't have any cons.. It made the car sound more alive and a lot more aggressive which I guess caused the car to waste more gas. It makes the car more fun to drive with a cheap mod but you'll end up going to tha gas station more often

Pros: Cooler Air, slight power gain, possibly better mpg

Cons: Filter in fender (may fail CA smog, if you get a d!ck for a smog inspector), more upkeep.

However, pro's outweigh the con's heavily...go for it

Which is directly related to your foot getting more aggressive because that growl is just so entertaining.

Well I guess my next ? is was it hard to install or did you take it to a shop and had it installed? This car is already fun to drive but I wanted to put a little more *** behind to make it perform better. Also do you know of any good web site I can go to to get cool stuff for my Maxima?

well Missouri has gotten alot tougher on emissions in the last few years. I was told that putting a cold air intake would shorten the life of your engine. Is that true or false?

That is false...but CAN be true. People will say a CAI lowers engine life for a couple reasons. First, if you buy a craptastic filter than you're just pumping dust, dirt, and debris into your engine which can and will ruin your motor. Second, more air results in more fuel which results in a bigger explosion. So, a non-turbo motor won't last as long with a turbo on it than a pre-built turbo motor, but your CAI will never approach the air power of a turbo. Also, lightsout put together a really nice list for you. Use it well.

I know i'm new to the forum, and I'm posting a Honda wiki site, but here's something I put together a while back that's useful:http://hondaaccord.wikidot.com/intake-info

can't really put more input since everyone else touched everything.
