cold air intake

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

installed cold air intake,removed all stock intake pipe & box. works great, my ? is what to do with the hot pipe right now it just hanging there. do i do just leave it there or what.

Hot pipe, WTF are you talking about. What engine do you have?? Is it boosted?? Pics please!!

i should have been more clear. its the hose under, on stock intake just before first 90degree bend on left side. its not a pipe,sorry i said it was a pipe. this picture off ebay should give you good idear of were i am talking about. the hose is under were arrow is, and is about a 1inch hose.

thats a helmholtz resonator i believe. It exists to make a little more power in the 3000 rpm range, so great for drivability.

but your cold air intake cares not for driveability, so it won't hook up correct? it unscrews with a few screws from the fan shroud, so get it outta there

i dont use it on my stock intake piping, and i dont use it on my short ram, you dont need it, so ditch it, free up a little space

take a quick look at your vacuum diagram on your emission label. thats should tell you were that hose goes and its importance.

Are you talking about the plastic resonator box that goes under the intake pipe? You can leave it there or take it out -- it's not important.
