Ok i just installed a cold air intake on my 92 240sx..as soon as i installed this bad boy a day later idle was actin funny..my car likes to tremple when i have it in drive and am completely stoped(yes i have a automatic) when i put it into park or neutral the trempling seem to goes away..i thought it was this pinched hose that was from one of the vacumn lines..but i replaced it and decreased the pinching by more then 50%...it accutally seems a lil worse now but it could be me just paying close attention..so my questions is could this harm my engine..and what would be the possibilities...im almost 100% sure it has to do wif my new cold air intake setup..if any of u know how to diagnos this and have to ask me some questions my AIM: Bustadust8

I have sort of the same problem. I have a 91 auto. I don't have an intake, just a k&n air filter in the box, but my car idles rough.

It has been doing it for about a year and occasionally my RPMs take a dive to 400, but I don't think it is bad for our motors.

I have a 2.5 inch exhaust so maybe that is the reason?

busta: check your maf connection, that may have goten knocked loose durring your instal

2the40: do the same as above, but also consider cleaning the MAF with brake cleaner lightly, be careful with it though, the MAF is fragile.sometimes the oil in those K&N filters gets on the hotwire

Yea, it's probably just a loose MAF connection, and make sure everythings tight. If that's the case, the reason it idles funny is because the MAF is reading different amounts of air when the car isn't even moving, due to the loose connection.
