Hey guys,

I have a question. As you can see, I'm from Montreal and our winters are quite crapy (-22F, a few feet of snow, salt on the roads, black ice,etc..). I have a cold air intake (a cone filter with an adaptor) and it sucks air from the engine bay. Besides all the Thermodynamics stuff, I would like to know if keeping the cold air intake during the winter would be damaging for my car. Any bad experiences? Any problems related to the filter (starting problems, stalling, etc)?

You should be fine as far as your filter setup goes. The problem you would run into is with a cold air extension that places the filter below the engine bay where you truly get the cold air. If our winter turns to sheot here, I'll pull the extension off and run it like yours. Just keep an eye on it and naturally perform the necessary maintenance.
