I never understood why anyone would want to go any lower then the Eibach Pro-kit. I mean right now my car is at the perfect height. my Y-pipe scrapes a little but thats because I modified mine and it wont scrape when I get the racingline one. but any lower at all and I'll scrape like crazy. plus look wise, it'll look almost the same

I understand what your saying hussain the difference would only be 1-2" lower but I love the look that. That 1-2" gives you. I think it's a much superior look. So what could happen if I scrape a lot I'm really only worried about the stollen fascia getting messed up but is there something else I should be considering.

my Y-pipe scrapes right now but thats cuz mine is modified. when I get the racingline Y-pipe I dont think MINE will scrape but yours being extra low with the coils could scrape it. over time it could make a hole in (maybe a couple years). thats pretty much the only thing I can think of. I'd like to say the transmission could scrape BUT theirs a thick a** piece of metal in front of it to block it so the transmission will be fine.... mostly just your fascia will scrape.

Thanks Hussain!!! I guess my question is even though the coils are a lower quality brand is $500.00 a good enough deal to compensate for the lower quality???

Keep in mind dude - cheap buys twice. Trust me on this. I haven't heard anything good about D2 coilovers. Put the $500.00 you have in a drawer and get another $500 and go for the BCs. If you want to go one up from those, go for Tein.

Coilovers are not all about just ride height. The adjustable dampening and overall design of coils is better longevity wise than springs. Most coils are rebuildable (though I'm not sure about the D2s - I know Tein SS coils are rebuildable) and are designed to be driven at lower heights. Lowering springs accelerate wear and tear of stock shocks and struts and once those go out, you have to replace them completely - they're not available for overhaul in most instances. No one here on the forums (to my knowledge) has gotten to the point of shock/strut replacement - let me tell you... that will NOT be cheap when the time comes. Our struts are pretty sophisticated - lots of good technology in them. Nissan designed them well for performance, but they're definitely not cheap.

I have my Tein springs as a short term solution - Tein SS coils are definitely in my future. I've already started saving even though I just got my springs. If you really just want a quick fix, get some springs now and start saving for coilovers. That way, once your struts/shocks are shot, you can just order the coilovers and you'll be ready to rock.

Do what you like - just keep some of that stuff in mind.

You can definitely tell the height difference. I couldn't really tell (inside the car) between Eibachs and Stock, but between Eibach/Stock vs Coils was a definite change. In addition handling improves greatly. There are more benefits to coilovers than just ride height to take into consideration.

i agree with what they said.. i would just save another 500 bucks and get BC coilovers, just cover the front of your fascia with stickers so when it gets scratched you can just pop more stickers on :chuckle:

Less chance of bottoming out on coilovers even at the same height or a bit lower. Not always about the looks either, coilovers is much superior than OEM with aftermarket springs.

Im most likely buying them tomorrow........ Here is my view point I will buy these coils for $500 because its a sick deal!!! Ill probably use these for about 2-3 years.... At that point someone will be selling there Tien coils for $1000 and Ill get them then... I have no intention of selling my Coupe ever!!! So Im always going to be swaping out parts.... for example the my audi headlights I have had since April this year and I have opened replaced the original lights with bigger lights and them opened them again to fix something...... I will always be getting things fixed and replacing adding to what I have.......

Loop thanks for the response are your familar with D2 any is there anything else I should consider... and what is your opinion of my plans???

Cool, I would really like to hear your opinion now. I was always taught never to cheap out on suspension parts, but techonology has advanced. Most coilovers being made now are made in Taiwan in the same plant or same as some of the top coilover companies. The difference is in the R&D, build, specifications, and quality control. Thus, its a hit or miss.

I am aware that it will be very stiff and might make some noise. But 2 years I dont think will do that much damage and if it really is that bad I will just buy new ones... Not saying I have money to throw away but Im more concerned with the looks of that car... and as sick as Tein springs would be I can justify spending almost triple the price...... If they were $1000 I would be much more open to it. But Ive bought almost all of my parts used or from ebay... aka ebay exhaust and I have been very happy with the turn out so far... so it looks like ill be rolling the dice and hoping for the best.
