the ignitor has power and is giving off power, the ground to the coils are good, the power source is good, the signal pulse wire has a constant 12v source too. the car turns over but no spark. could the coils be bad? or is the cas not spinning u think. im trying to help out my buddy who is almost done with the rb swap but just no spark

I would say CAS over coils. I have never found a RB with all the Coils gone on it. I have had some with bad coils, but the motor would just run like chit. They would still start though...

pull out your plugs and coils with it. lay your plugs on your valve covers with the threads on a metal pipe. ground the metal pipe.

now pull out your CAS and start turning it with ign on. you should see spark.

BEFORE you do this, disconnect your fuel pump or injector plugs- preferably injector electrical plugs so you dont flood your motor/cause a fire hazard

if everything is ok, check your CAS, and make sure the key inside it isnt broken off, and it fits good on your exhaust cam. then check your timing.

check a known working cas and a known working ecu on you car. A bad ecu in my SR swap was acting the same way that you are discribing.

i had the same problem... i've checked the ign' module with a voltmeter, and it seemed to be ok...

but i had no spark...

i'm using haltech so i could see if i'm getting signal from the cas, and i did..

so i got a new ign' module, and it worked...

don't ask me why ....

fellas. Has the man confirmed ground on the harness from the coil packs. I had this very same issue when i recieved my car after the install. No spark because the ground wire from the rear of the wire harness to the igniter chip. Should be a small black 20-18 gauge wire with a terminal lug at the end. very short coming out of the end of the whole harnesses. Any questions you can email me at [email protected] i can help you track it down.

also, to confirm the cas comment. the ecu and igniter take that signal then send the pulse to the packs. He said he had power and the ecu pulse at the coil packs from the igniter chip.

yes that is grounded, we figured out that it is the ecu, we would get signal from the CAS to the ecu but no signal would leave
