And what would give you the impression they are crap? The stock coils are highly capable when they aren't 15 years old. We have 600hp Ls and FJs over here with a single coil and distributor, COP is great, even OEM. Don't buy into internet psudofacts.

The GM coils are just an alternative. I never had a problem with my 15yr old coils.

I havent had an issues since i got a complete new set, but it is something Ive been keeping extra sets for as they seem to go often for people.

I know on other coil over plug setups that upgrading coils result in more power and perfromance.

Honda owners seem to be learning this... AEM has a kit to convert a honda engine (k20 IIRC) to CAS/COP from dizzy. This could be useful to whoever it is that was looking at using a honda ECU to run the CA?

i like the idea of using the GM packs tho, may have to try that if i ever lose a coil.

Advance Auto Parts, O'Reillys and Auto Zone can ge them too. Tell them to price match AZ to $60. All mine are BWD from O'Reilly, and they usually can get them the same day. At Advance, we have them at our master distribution center, so it takes like 3 days, haha.

I posted an old link here to a RB skyline site where they replaced oe coils with GM coils and wires. It was a direct swap, retained nissan ignitor and no chip/dwell settings done.Perhaps different GM coils than these... from older buick V6 iirc.Same GM-CA18 conversions were posted on ns.com way back. The bosch coil (direct swap too) seem to faulter ~15+ psi according to some accounts.I'm gonna get rid of the CA coil-on-plug. Seen too many failed/cracked coils and don't think that 'hot zone' is the ideal place for those coils.Old CA coils not the way to go either imo.Plug wire will allow quick plug read during tuning, vs oem....and no more crappy little screws corroding & snappin' off - lol
