Ok I did search but found only a vague reference to testing coil packs. I performed a power balance test earlier today to try and find why my Z is so lacking of power and running a little rough. Anyway cylinder 1 seemed ok on the Consult test. However I manually pulled each coil back connector individually since I wasn't happy with the power balance test.

Low and behold when pulling the number one (1) coil pack connector, the engine remained unchanged where as all other cylinders resulted in the idle becoming worse, so I think I may have found my culprit in either the coil pack or possible the fuel injector.

So my question is, how can I test my coil pack to see if it is indeed at fault? From my limited knowledge, testing resistance from pin 1 to pin 2 should be around 1 ohm. Is this the case?

On a side note, I did finally get the factory stereo replaced!

Thanks again for the help,

Markus

i had the same problem in my z about a month ago, except i had 3 cylinders missing. im not a 100% sure but you could just unplug one coil and swap it with a another coil and see if that has any change. also if the coil is bad i have one that i just bought, i put it in my car but it hasnt even left my garage. im doing a swap so i have no use for it. if you want it make me an offer.
