Suspect the igniter first. If that doesn't solve it, check the codes on your ecu to see if your crank angle sensor isn't playing-up on you. Definitely check the grounding of the engine to include block and intake manifold. Don't rule out the ecu as possible culprit. And lastly, make sure the compression is good on that cylinder.F3600 wrote:Hi, I finally found the culprit on my engine .. i Just want some input..
Car is absolutely undriveable misfire /backfire/ backire in the intake /fuel cut /bad idle , hard to start
Well when i unplug my number 3 coilpack the car is okay ... its fully driveable i boosted a 0.5 bar with no real problem .. car seemed fine...
Soo i park in my driveway .. and unbolt the coilpack from the head... car was misfiring and playing with the trhottle was needed to keep it running ..
Now that the coilpack was in my hand and not on the sparkplug i unplug it and bam : the car start running good again... im like WTf , so i plug the coil while holding it in my hand .. and the car start misfiring and running like **** .. i tried with 3-4 other coilpack .. no change .. everytime i pluggued thed coil the car was running bad
Anyway now im pretty sure my wiring is ****up somwhere in my Ignitor/coilpack/ecu wiring .. is it right?
ho well I think im gonna take out my harness and examine that.
anyone ever got a problem like that ?
You can ground it by connecting a ground strap to any threaded inserrt on the block, preferably below the turbo.NeedCAforS13 wrote:dee, where is the block ground. Just out of curiosity... I can't remember where I hooked it up

Man, you hit me with a nasty question, but I think they are suppose to be on. If you say you're backfiring and everything, you're either losing ignition through your rpm range or your injector is cutting out under load and then back on again. I still will be wary of the ecu as well. Your problem lies between your complete ignition system to include the ecu, but not the AFM. CAS, igniter, injectors, ecu, and or injector drivers. Or check the harness to make sure no ground wires are cut.F3600 wrote:I installed a new ground and the problem still there...
I have a simple question, When the car is running are the two led behind the Ecu are supposed to be lit?
