I know that coilovers are usually always the correct answer but they are very expensive. I have enough to buy the K Sport coilovers atm. All i really want is the drop. Lower the car just a couple inches to give it a better look imo. Ive heard alot of mixed things on lowering springs. Are springs really that bouncy? Is the ride quality worse than OEM? If there is a good quality set of springs for the M35 I'd like to know before I spend $1,000. If anyone has any experience with springs and coils for the M please let me know how everything went.

This topic has been discussed many times.
It all comes down to preference and what you are trying to achieve, also if you are going with after market wheels.
For me, I was in your shoes, I just wanted the drop because I was happy with the sport 19"inch wheels, so I went with springs and new shocks/struts. It ended up costing less than coil overs. I choose Tien S Tech springs because they provided the most drop out of all the springs which I do scrape from time to time and very hapy with them, no bounce. Most members on here are using Eibachs Pro Kit.
Well I ended up bending a rim and needed new tires so I pulled the trigger on set of 20" wheels and this where I kinda regret not get coil over, now I want airbags and i could of done it with the coils over bags.
Like I said man, all depends on looks/stance, ajustibilty and wheels. Some other member just installed K sport, maybe he'll chime in or look up his post.

The new shocks and struts, what brand did you buy and what was the final cost? I just feel like if i can get the same drop with springs i should get them and use the extra cash towards another part.

KYB main choice they are good at resonable price
Check out part geeks under 90 bucks for the front and under 50 bucks for the rear each looking at under $300 mayb with good research you can find cheaper but that's pretty cheap already.
Another member used Monroe not sure how they holding up but preferred choice here is KYB while you in there get new shock mourn and struts elbows it's like under 15 bucks.
Depending on the springs, I'd say you'll be around 600 bucks for everything. I was able to snag the Stechs for like 160, eibach about 250.

For the Tein S springs, do they need to be AWD specific or are RWD springs fine? Also can you link the rear struts you found?

Only springs available are Esperil, I believe only available at burtman industries, link below.

Oh lol well no worries. Now time to decide what coilovers to buy. Ive heard D2's are very good. Are there any members that have the D2 Coilovers?

Most members run D2 or BC, search up in the topic section you'll find lot of info, good luck. Post pics when it's all set and done.

95% of our coilover'ed members are on BC or D2...there is probably a good reason for that. Almost no one runs KSports on these cars. I stand by my comments in the thread that LCC828 started (linked earlier) that it just doesn't look as good of a kit as BC's (my personal choice).

Also, for all of your other questions...hate to say it, but search. This topic has been discussed (including cost of spring suspension 'refresh' vs coilovers) ad nauseum.

I had BC coilovers. I plan to get them again for my current 2011 but this time I'm going to upgrade the springs to Swift springs.

You're better off getting coilovers if you're trying to do a refresh of your suspension...for an AWD car you're looking at about $700 in parts (since you have to buy some of the parts from dealer). Might as well spend $950 and get coilovers. That's my take anyway lol.

Dropped 4 inches in front and about 2 inches in rear.

I have ZERO issues with Ksport. Love the set up. Easy install. For my year and model, ALL brands look the same, physically.

I HIGHLY recommend ksport coils.

Did you have to buy a camber kit?

For as low as I went, yes. I posted pictures of my rear camber kit on the "Official suspension thread"
