alright so i need to lower my s13 badly. im debating whether to get coilovers or lowering springs. now being 15 i dont have a ton of money. and lowering springs are sooo much cheaper. the cars gonna be my dd. my dad says coilovers are the way to go because the suspension on my car is so old it be better to replace the struts and springs. idk what to do. i know you guys are the experts so what do you think? once again its my dd. im not going to be taking it to the track.

I'm going to disagree. After having strut/spring setups on a number of cars and being disappointed with all of them visually, I can tell you this: You gotta pay to play.

If you want to improve both looks and performance drastically, then you need to search out a good coilover system. The tiny drop you get from springs is pretty unsatisfying.

A strut/spring setup can cost anywhere from $500-$650 on average. If you are patient and wait for vendors to have sales around major holidays, you can pick up cheap coilovers like Megan, Stance, PBM, etc for a couple hundred more (like between $800-$1000). Being so young, this may sound like alot of money to you. But it will be worth it, IMO.

Yeah, definitely go with the coilovers. Your dad is right.
