Hey Guys,

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on coilovers for my coupe. I have a 2011 Altima Coupe. A couple roommates and I were discussing ideas for our cars (Altima, Lexus IS250, VW Jetta) and they chose coilovers. I did research and found Megan coilovers cheaper. Couple questions:

1. Are they good quality coilovers?
2. Does anybody have pictures in which they could share?

Thanks,
Newbie Charles

Sup Charles. I am wondering the same thing. I am looking to get coils for my ride next. I have a 2011 too. I'm interested to see what people say too. The Megan were the cheapest I saw too.

When it comes to coilovers you really get what you pay for. Don't be cheap when getting coilovers, because you will regret it later. Just conduct a youtube search on coilover noise and problems to get a better idea of what you can expect after installing coilovers. :yesnod There's also nothing wrong with keeping things old school and going with quality aftermarket lowering springs and struts/shocks as a cost-effective alternative to coilovers.

I can dig that. Racingline has the TEIN coilover kit for 950.

Was lookin at KYB Excel-G GR2 Shocks/Struts & + TEIN S-Tech Lowering Springs as an option. That's about 635 bucks.

A guy on my football team has TEIN springs and loves them. I guess coilovers aren't for me, especially living in Baltimore. Thanks guys appreciate the help.

If you get springs, you'll eventually want coilovers. I've been here long enough, and this ALWAYS happens. You can adjust your coilovers height if your roads are bad. Anyways, it's your call.

Yup. I'm on Tein springs and they ride amazing and the give a nice drop. In fact, I scrape on speed bumps when I have stock wheels. When I upgraded to 19's it raised the car up, so now I want to lower it more with coils. I'm thinking about Tein coils since I still want to maintain a decent ride. I know they don't have as much of a drop as some of the other brands, but I'm not looking to completely slam the car.

TEIN is the best, they have 2 kinds...

Basis: The cheaper of the 2, only ride height adjustable (the ones RacingLine sells)
StreetAdvance: Ride height and 16 way dampening adjustable, but expensive at $1200-$1500
