Well I need them. My ride height/wheel fitment is terrible, and everything is blown to piss. My needs are slightly unique. My car will never see a track and will be used on long distance drives as well as daily driving to work and school. My research has showed me D-MAX's are pretty comfortable. But paying so much for coils that will never be put to the test seems impractical. I have been doing some research on ISIS and I know that they are not actually made by ISIS. The closest thing I can find to the design is GODSPEED. But there are a couple changes that make me believe they are slightly better made. I have used ISIS parts and have been happy thus far but this would be something getting far more of a beating than anything I have used yet. I have also looked at PBM I just don't know about the ride quality being that they are engineered for drifting. I imagine them being very stiff. All I am really asking is for a slight review from people that have used these products, and maybe some recommendations. Your helping me out a lot, thanks in advance.

coilovers are not what you should be looking for if you aren't going to track your car.

Thats what I was thinking so I was looking into KYB GR-2's and MEGAN springs. They have the highest drop, but I just don't think it is low enough for my taste. I haven't seen any with decent wheels though...

What's wrong with having a good handling street car?

BC Coilovers BR series. My friend has them on his subaru legacy and says they are really comfortable for daily driving (he uses them for the same things you do) and they definitely have the drop you are looking for.http://www.importimageracing.c....html

....really? this is bad advice, unless you want your car to handle like a boat on lower springs and also possibly be unsafe..

Lowering springs are just as safe as OEM and handle VERY well. I have been driving on the same set-up I mentioned above and I love it. Just not low enough.

Those seem good. They look like they are well made, and I like the fact that they are rebuildable and have warranty.

E-mail the the contact info on that site and speak with the guy who runs it. He is beyond helpful and really polite he may be able to give you a better idea on the coilovers.

You never listed a price you're willing to pay.If it's 1g, save a little longer for Stance.Don't sell yourself short. If you have springs, and aren't happy, why would you get them again? If you're really enthusiastic about your car, purchase something reputable.Something that will allow you to grow.Basically, do it right the first time. Don't settle for something you're "ehh" about.Get what you really want. And if you REALLY want it, you'll save. There's no hurry.

I dont really care what I need to pay really. But I just dont need "track" quality and wanted to know what was out there. No-one ever comments on ride quality too much, and if they do it's horribly vague. So I figured I would create this thread to get more detailed descriptions of the ride quality on different coils. I dont have springs myself, while I am building my sr my friend jarrett has been kind enough to let me borrow his coupe with that set up. I Love the feel of the setup, but just wish they went lower.

Since they don't make Kei Office anymore... I highly recommend KW:http://www.kw-suspension.com/u...lover

I have Kei Office XT's on my S13 and the ride quality is great... I've put V3's (only version offered for S13/S14 other than clubsports... read 'race') on an E61 and my 05 S4 Avant... excellent handling and good adj with the bound/rebound adj... ride as good if not better than the factory sport suspsensions (E61 had the sport pkg since it's a 6mt). It's all about matching your spring rate to the dampers and vice versa... V3's are a great blend for a track/street car

I have a set of Stance LX+ that i'll be installing next week. They seemed to be the most "comfort/street only" coilovers I could find. I've had Eibach Sportline springs and KYB GR-2's for 4 yrs. I think they've been blown for most of that time. I remember e-mailing KYB and they told me that the GR-2's are not meant to handle much of a drop at all (and that the GX's can only handle a slight drop). The GR-2's are supposed to be a slightly stiffer, stock replacement. KONI yellows and Bilsteins are good dampers and would most likely be more comfortable than many coilovers, even if you used stiff springs, but are not as simple as a drop-in replacement coilover would be. My .02

Many companies sell various spring rates. SPL parts sells swift race springs in sizes that accomadate most coilovers (according to them) in the 4kg-20kg range. They have them in different lengths too. Many of the popular coilover companies sell different stiffness/length springs too. I put my Stance's on yesterday, but I have a bad wheel bearing, so until I have the time to replace it, I won't be driving the car. I'll give you some input once I do though.
