i bot these (kyb) coilovers from a local for 50 bucks. ive put coilovers in before but they didnt come with this much stuff. what ones go in the rear the 350p (long ones) or 450p (short ones) also i have 3 different size o-rings 8 of each where do they go. and then 12 small set screws and 12 bigger set screws no idea about those either, and the are the holes for the set screws suppose to be towards the bottom or the top of the strut. also theres only one odd looking washer (is there suppose to be 2)? and where do the regular washers go?

heres a pic of everything

$50 suspension is never a good idea. That's like cutting your springs, plus it's going to ride like s***.

ok, i always hear ppl say those things are unsafe but why? they are basically the same setup as the ground control ones. and i have ground control ones on my crx. i know lots of people with those on their hondas and they have no problems. not stickin up for that kinda setup caz i have real coilovers on my car just curious. i know stock length shocks/struts are only meant to go so low before they just bottom out or blow quickly.

I used to have a EF., with ground control "coilovers" and Tokikos. The difference with those and these is this....

The GC brand actually fit the perches because they are made for them. They are not a universal item. They are also tested and tried true.

These are some universal items that wont fit the shocks right.

lol this is funny. the op is obviously to dense to understand.

you bought some ebay/ s*** springs with perches

the spring rates are probably s***.

installing these on a kyb gr2 will not drop the car at all

and they will most likely blow those struts within a year.

do you even now if the spring rates are suitable for the car?

KYB AGX and GR2's are a adjustable (AGX) and Improved aftermarket shocks / struts. They are stock lengths, and not for lowering, but for damper performance or adjust-ability. They are not designed for use with lowering springs, KYB's site will say this as well.

fair enough. just askin. caz i know plenty of ppl and have scrapped many hondas with those installed. i do know what ya mean about not fitting the perch right because when i remove most of them they are in there kinda sideways and have to bang them out. never seen any bust tho, but i wouldnt doubt it. of course my hks coilover broke in half to so meh. lol

Stop comparing Honda's and dubs to Nissans. They are not the same by a damn site. Nissans do not like lowering on cup kits. There is minimal suspension travel designed into these cars, that is part of the reason why they sit so high to begin with. A Honda on the other hand can go down several inches on shocks and springs and still have pretty good suspension travel. I also have a VW, and ANY aftermarket shock or spring is superior to the factory marshmallows.

In regards to that particular kit, it is not application specific. You can order those for 3 different cars from 3 different sellers and I can pretty much guarantee it will be the same product. Maybe with different colored springs. Also, the GR-2's with anything more than in inch and a half of lowering will probably not last longer than a few hundred miles.

But then what do I know...

the ground control units are typically designed and engineered to fit a particular size shock tube, which is why they recommend use of a particular brand damper for a specific application. Those "sleeves" are "Engineered'' to "Fit" with universal applications, thus creating an acceptible amount of play(according to the manufacturer) to allow for multiple damper body sizes, the problem with this approach is that when that consumer gets these units they ( probably 8 times out of 10) dont fit exactly right on the damper body allowing the perch to shift to a stressed position and cause the sleeve to fail, or crack, i have seen it on many hondas that i have worked on at my previous job, simple fact of the matter is that they are inferior units and jeoparodize your saftey

I always say just let it happen. If after the first 5 responses the OP is still dead set on installing these....then just let it happen. Darwin will take care of the rest eventually.Sometimes people just arent worth saving....i do feel for the SX but sacrifices have to be made.

I deal with this kinda of crap every day at work. I sell computers. People are convinced that something that costs a fraction of the intended item for games and so on can do it just as well. Of course this isn't unsafe like fake coilovers, but it's just as annoying that these people are so dense. they always come back and complain too.

Those "coilovers" are not designed for your car. They're a universal item, and the adjustments rollers, springs, and sleeves will not seat on your strut right.Get your $50 back and then add $900 to it and invest in a quality part. It's not hard to figure out, but good parts often cost money.
