I am looking to buy new coilovers i am looking at the tein drift spec or the kei office xt. If anyone has these and can tell me how they are for everyday driving and drifting that would really help. Also if anyone know where to get the kei office xt that would help thanks

Don't go any higher than 8/6 spring rates for the street. I don't know much about tein or kei office, but I can vouch for kts. They are relatively cheap, and are very well constructed.

you might have better luck finding opinions in the brakes and suspension forum but i have zeal funtion x's on my s14 and am pretty happy with them so far. i have 8k/6k springs and they are barely worth putting up with on the street.

also stay away from the really top line stuff designed for track use if you drive your car on the street for 2 main reasons.1. most of them are setup by the manufacturer with really high spring rates which will actually make your car handle worse on the street.2. most of them are aluminum body shocks that will wear out or in some cases blow apart with constant street use.

Dude, why didn't you post it in the right forum? The suspension forum is their for a reason, and the search function works perfectly fine there too.

Why has this somehow become the only thing that people are interested in coilovers? If you are tucking much tire on a 240, your car is overlowered. It will actually handle worse than if it was an inch higher. My car is dropped somewhere around 2" front and 1.75 rear. I could go a lot lower, but I don't want to. They go low enough. I could go another 1.5" lower front, and probably more in the rear if I wanted, but I won't, and you should't. You can also get new upper mounts for the fronts, which will let you lower them even more.

Oh ok. Sorry, just used to people asking questions like "which co will lower my car the most?" You will not be able to set them at stock ride height in the rear, unless you use a lot of preload. Maximum height setting in the rear is probably -.75 inches. Front can go anwhere from stock to a pretty good drop.

I have stock 16 inch nissan 240sx wheels and 225/50/16 tires wrapped around it i am not sure what the offset is. The tires hang over the wheel and i can get only the tip of my pointer finger inbetween the strut and the tire. I think the original tires were 205/55/16. I called spl to see if it would fit but since i didnt know the offset of the wheel they could not help me. so if anyone know if the coilovers will clear the tire then that would help alot thanks

The offset is +40. I'm surprised that the guy you spoke with at spl didn't know.

Anyway, your tires won't clear the coilovers. sorry.

with spacers, you can clear coilovers with ANY wheel. They just need to be big enough. I say you should just use the correct size tire for that rim. 225's are for 8" wide wheels. The stock wheels and tires will clear, so figure out how much closer inwards you are with your 225s, and use that large of a spacer. Don't forget to buy the extended wheel studs as well.

Werd,

KTS don't go that low... you can tuck tread on a 235/40 at max low, even then you can always take out collars and droop spring.

The stock 6"wide s13 se's will clear KTS with a 205 tire though, Just though Id add that because I read so many places here that they wouldn't I almost bought new rims...

The front's KTS pieces can go high enough to raise the car(my first try lifted the car 2"!) however the rear will be at least an inch if not a little more if you play it safe with how much thread of the shock body you are using...I think I screwed it in a little more then half as deep as the width of the shock and(about I high as I felt comfortable going) and I was a round 1.5" lower in the back
