Ive installed a few sets of coilovers and rode in a bunch of cars with them and never heard them make this sound. Im lost. When i turn it sounds like the spring is binding up or kind of winding tighter. Theyre PBM and ive only had them on about a week. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you dont have your front coils adjusted and tightened properly as far as the collars and everything go upfront.

Should the collars be tighter against the spring? Like more pressure on the spring?

Everyone has their own preference on preload, too much of it though and they will ride like s***. I always just do about 5 turns once its touched the spring.

More importantly the collars should be torqued against each other as to not move.

No they arent, then do you have the part that attaches to your hub torqued against them as well?

I always thought it was normal and just a 'coilover' thing.

None of mine or anyone else I know of cars have ever done this.

Only thing left I can imagine is your spring is turning with your wheel and rubbing against the top of the coilover. Im sure you can fix this with a washer etc. of some sort.
