So ive been looking into buying a set lower priced coilovers, and ran into a few different brands to choose from. Wondering if we could all get some feedback and educated opinions on some of these brands, hands on expirence would be best, thanks

I don't think it's a matter of inexpensive coilovers as so much as not getting coilovers at all. I'm shopping for coilovers as well but most Z owners just want more power so they spend their money elsewhere. As you know, even an inexpensive set of coilovers can run around $800 to $1000. I think that modding a Z should start with suspension and brakes but the youngin's just want more power and speed. And the ones who want to lower their cars will usually go the cheaper route and just go with a set of lowering springs. Honestly, I think I've only seen 2 or 3 Z users on here who have mentioned owning coilovers.

How cheap are you wanting to go? or I guess I should ask what do you consider cheap, bc you may be able to find some deals in your price range for a better coilover. I've seen stance coilovers which have really good reviews for around $1100 shipped

You have a good point, I haven't seen too many 350s with coilovers on here with exeption of a few raced out competition cars. It's funny though, because if you ask this exact question on a 240sx forum, you'd get 30+ responses withen the first week.

Considering that my car is pushing the 100k mark, my shocks are pretty done, it's either 600$ for shocks and springs, or 900 to do it the right way and buy coilovers. plus, coilovers are ride-height adjustable, which is nice.

350z is a bit different than a 240.

And aren't d2 spring rates too crazy for street use.

I know I am a little late to this thread, sorry.

I actually have tested and evaluated a lot of different performance parts for 350Z's and G35's (among others). One of my points of interest is the performance aspect in the suspension and brakes area of these cars.I would be more than happy to recommend a couple decent coilover kits for the Z no problem, Just need to know your budget, needs, and preferences....

have you tested the nismo type-s suspension setup? I was curious about this one. I've read that you don't need a camber kit with it b/c the drop isn't very low, but I was wanting to know how much it helped with ride quality. I want a suspension more for improving the "freeway bounce" and overall daily driving. My car bounces like crazy....any suggestions or info

Yes, I have tested the Nismo tuned shocks and mild drop springs and even sway bars on a couple Z's.

I am not a big fan of this suspension personally, however if you like the idea of having this Nismo suspension.... It would be just fine for you going off of what you stated what your use for it was going to be. Sounds like you may need to just get some new dampers though... Maybe try some Tokico, Koni, or Belstein shocks/struts. It would be a little cheaper.

well I was also looking into the Stance LX+ also...

I think a little bit of performance capability mixed with a great ride comfort for daily driver is what I'm looking for. I will not be tracking the car but I do like to go on the occasional joy ride.

Sounds great, I am proud to have actually helped in R&Ding a lot of the Stance coilovers for them ever since they started up. I am actually on the back cover in their product catalog LOL

You cant go wrong with the Stance products for the Z, and comfortable LX+ version will suit you well....

Adjustable camber arms -- Well, it really depends on how picky you are with your alignment/ tire wear, and how low you end up adjusting your ride height with your new coilovers (to determine if you want or need adjustable camber arms). Most of the time, I do recommend them for most lowered Z's, in most situations.

If you do want to go with an adjustable camber kit to be able to properly align your car to well within factory specs.... There is several front and rear camber kits on the market for these cars. Like most things, some are better than others and the price range varies. So it all comes down to personal preference and your budget.

I could recommend a couple different nice, suitable adjustable front and rear camber kits (and also ones I would stay away from), in an e-mail or something. I wouldn't want to get in trouble or accused of advertising for anybody on these forums... LOL
