I don't think it's a matter of inexpensive coilovers as so much as not getting coilovers at all. I'm shopping for coilovers as well but most Z owners just want more power so they spend their money elsewhere. As you know, even an inexpensive set of coilovers can run around $800 to $1000. I think that modding a Z should start with suspension and brakes but the youngin's just want more power and speed. And the ones who want to lower their cars will usually go the cheaper route and just go with a set of lowering springs. Honestly, I think I've only seen 2 or 3 Z users on here who have mentioned owning coilovers.redsx13 wrote:really? you'd expect to have more imput on a question like this... nobody puts inexpensive aftermarket coilovers on their z's? haha
You have a good point, I haven't seen too many 350s with coilovers on here with exeption of a few raced out competition cars. It's funny though, because if you ask this exact question on a 240sx forum, you'd get 30+ responses withen the first week.Retired Chief wrote:I don't think it's a matter of inexpensive coilovers as so much as not getting coilovers at all. 350z is a bit different than a 240.
Yes, I have tested the Nismo tuned shocks and mild drop springs and even sway bars on a couple Z's.orangeNblue wrote:have you tested the nismo type-s suspension setup? I was curious about this one. I've read that you don't need a camber kit with it b/c the drop isn't very low, but I was wanting to know how much it helped with ride quality. I want a suspension more for improving the "freeway bounce" and overall daily driving. My car bounces like crazy....any suggestions or info
Sounds great, I am proud to have actually helped in R&Ding a lot of the Stance coilovers for them ever since they started up. I am actually on the back cover in their product catalog LOLorangeNblue wrote:well I was also looking into the Stance LX+ also...
I think a little bit of performance capability mixed with a great ride comfort for daily driver is what I'm looking for. I will not be tracking the car but I do like to go on the occasional joy ride.
Adjustable camber arms -- Well, it really depends on how picky you are with your alignment/ tire wear, and how low you end up adjusting your ride height with your new coilovers (to determine if you want or need adjustable camber arms). Most of the time, I do recommend them for most lowered Z's, in most situations.orangeNblue wrote:hey thanks!! these are the ones I'll go with...I know that you have to do something with the camber as well when you lower a car...any recommendations or help on this one too???
