Hey guys I have a 96 240sx. I need some help on deciding on coilovers under $1500. If you all could post a reason or a review on why one is better than the other or a suggestion on another Coilover kit , then that would be great

Thank you all for the help.

umm, coilovers are one thing you dont want to get used, unless you personally know/trust the previous owner and know how hard they have been driven. I run on he's and like them, however i have heard good things about spl as well, not sure on that specific model of kei office. One thing to seriously consider is how long you will have to wait when you need one rebuilt, and the ability to easily get different springs and have the dampners re-valved if you choose to. Dont overlook customer service and a us based office that can help you with these things.

anytime you get used wether it be GOOD used or bad used... they are still used

they may look like they are brand new BUT you never really know what the owner put them through.

If you want the best product, I say go with SPL!

I have had them for a while and LOVE them.. inverted shock design, great ride. very well built and they are less than $1500.

Another reason is that they are NICO's sponsors.

Another reason is that, I have seen many different coils, have not owned them but seen them and these definetly compare the top od the class ones.. that cost way more than these.

plus you can get new shocks for them very easily through SPL.. no waiting time to get them rebuilt and you can check out their site for their comparison chart when they did their product testing...

check out JIC also...they make good entry level coilovers for good prices. not sure what they cost, mine were already on the car.

The Kei Office TEs are more like a street sport set up and they arnt adjustable. Drift factory is supposed to be getting some adjustable ones sometime...i think called the GXs or something...ill let them tell you more but they say they should be priced close to the TEs and are better for Drift.

Skill is required and can take you pretty far. But you do come to a point that parts can take you a lot further.

and why spend money on parts that only get you so far and then have to buy new ones when you can just spend a little more and get parts that will last a lot longer....that seems more cost effective to me.

whats wrong with USED? if the shocks go out (at worst) you can send it back to tiens to do repairs. its pretty fast and about 60 bucks a shock.

I'm a big fan of Apex'i products. I have a set of WS myself, maybe look into a set of N1's or N1 Spec. V's.

Hey I got some tein he's a while back and they are aweasome. When I was in the buying phase I looked through them all and tein's are simply the best. The he's are very stiff and adjustable and they can take the beating from drifting. I have asked many pro drifters about them and they say that the teins are aweasome. So if I were you tein he's would be my choice. I love mine and wouldnt go with anything else. Plus you can find them on ebay for really cheap. If you dont find them get the JIC flta2 coilovers or some really nice Kei offices that are actaully adjustable!

Tein's newest coil-over the sideways master Drift spec are out and should be avaible soon, I know projectnissan.com has them. They are the new version of the HE's and should be good F: 10k R:8k and with TEIN's you can send them out to be repaired if you break them.

What are the difference between these and the HE's, I heard it's just HE's with the abilty to use EDFC?

hi, I don't want to hijack, but I just have a quick question I figure you guys would know and I didn't want to start a new thread for. ok here it goes...Does Tein make HAs for the S13. I swear I saw a site that had them for sale, but I can't seem to find them anywhere (even Tein's site so that is not a good sign.) TIA/hijack

I've heard good stuff about the FLT-A1US.

Not brutal on real world roads, still a good coilover, adjustable, rebuildable in the USA, blah blah blah.

Get Motons! lol.

KTS or Kei Office GX. Both excellent coils from excellent companies. I've heard nothing but good things about both of them.

I think they discontinued the HEs, and the SUper Drifts are the replacements.

I used to have the HE's, but now I have the Super Drifts. THey're totally different. LIke the other guy said, bigger piston, different color, helper springs(rear), and IS compatible with EDFC.
