I saw these on ebay, they look decent.... anyone know if these are good? wondering if they are some sort of universal deal, it does say for 97-01 Q45

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN-CO ... 4cf2d2cd19

also says NOTE: Original spindles must be modified and welded onto the lower front brackets. The front lower brackets are made of steel for this purpose.

Buy them, take the chance. Obviously your willing to because your Q still has "issues" as your profile says. Sorting regular maintenance problems should be priority for you. But buy the springs, the economy needs it!

I need new suspension along with what I am getting ready to fix engine wise. My struts are blown, and someone had the car lowered way too low so the steering rack and pump are shot. I am trying to decide if ordering some decent coilovers is another option to ordering the KYBs from memory fab for 595.00. I want to weigh all my options before I spend a lot of money on this car because I might find out that it is better to sell the car and move on, but right now it is leaning more towards fixing it and trying to get as many miles as possible out of it.

Well it lists "more than 10 available" so obviously he has a few sets and probably sold a few. Feedback looks like it checks out. 99.9 or 4571 sales is very good. Check what your highest warranty would be. But usually to get the best warranty if a warranty at all you have to have a dealer install. I Dont pay much attention to the Y in general but Megans seem to be the most popular. I would go for it.

im just wondering about the welding they are talking about, but 900 for a set of coilovers is pretty good I think.

The price is good, but I would be worried about that too. I don't like having to get something brand new like that with expectations that they will not really work 100% and need to have welding done to them. That part just scares me.

If you have a good mechanic I would go to them and see if they roll their eyes or say "no big deal" before i did it. The price will be about the same for a new set of Espelir springs and KYB SR Specials which you know bolt directly on without any issues and leave the car in relaible shape. The adjustment you make on these, I'd be interested how you get to the rears? Looks like you need to get to the top of those shocks, so the rears wouldn't be very simple to move.

I would call these people and find out more about the installation and also if they know someone locally that can do it. What scares me is you get them home, you give them to a mechanic, he welds and it never works quite right. Then they are "damaged" so they are not returnable and you stuck with them.
