You got it.

Tein springs, or a set of the out of production Eibach springs, KYB SR Specials shocks from Japan.

Never heard of them. Coilovers are not of much interest to me.

Talk to Falkdesings. He's the y33 expert here. He's selling those Teins that Brian (maxnix) is talking about. Sound like your best option without breaking the bank. Check out this link.

Airrunner for Y33 is somewhere around $4000. For $900 or so, you can get Tein S-Tech and KYB SR Special, that's what I'm running and it's perfect for a nice drop with real world usability.

ya but the flexibility of a adjustable coilover set is much better.

the tein SS coilover set for other cars usually go for about 900 bucks!

That's for cars like Civic, where you have tens of thousands of people modding them across the country. Quite unlike the Y33 Q where you have under 50 people in the whole frickin country modding them. It's all about numbers, these are very low number cars, both from an original sales number as well as the incredibly low number of people that do ANYTHING at all to them.

And as far as "flexibility" well, once you install your coilovers and get them CORNER WEIGHTED (probably 90% of people out there with them don't even have a clue what that is) and set your height, when would you change it? Then what? Go get another alignment EVERY time you change ride height? FCK that, like it says in my signature "True Stance", my motto is DRIVE it like you PARK it. Big f'in deal if you can dump your car when you park it, can you DRIVE it like that? See what I'm saying?

your right falk.

I have coilovers on my current car and the money I spent on alignment was a waste.

the TEIN looks to be a decent drop.

but why does the KYB struts cost so much? you mentioned 900 for tein springs and kyb struts.

KYB SR Special are not sold in the US, and KYB USA won't import them for us, so we're stuck getting them in Japan and then paying shipping here.
