I was wondering if there is anything to do to maintain your coilovers? I noticed a small layer of rust on mine. The previous owner let the car sit for quite some time, so there is some small layers of rust in some areas.

Is there anything I can do to get the rust off the coilovers?

When it gets warmer, I'm probably going to get under the car and try sand the rust off and then use some chemicals to make sure it's clean, but the coilovers may be a little more complicated.....

also, was wondering what the best products for priming are.

i cant offer you much advice, except make sure and keep them clean during the winter time. especially if you have steal coilovers, the salt speeds up corrotion. mine are aluminum but i make sure to rinse them off after every snow storm.

if you dont already have them, a set of dust boots are a good idea as well.

most coilovers use alum for most of the construction. but many still use steel parts. be watchful of the threaded spring perches as these are usually steel and see considerable wear (from adjustment). if you see the rust then try and get rid of it and treat it to prevent it from happening again.

i usually end up rotating tires about twice a month, so makes it convenient to run a rag over everything and clean it up.

kw makes stainless steel coilovers that supposedly never rust, but not for the 240 yet. heres their propaganda http://www.kwsuspensions.com/inox.htm
