So, I have put the Megan Sport Coilovers on my coupe and last week decided to lower the ride to eliminate the wheel gap entirely but when I took it to the shop to have this done, they were able to lower the rear nearly all the way to the top of the rim, if I wanted it there... However, they said the fronts were maxed out and I have nearly a 2 finger and almost 3 finger gap in the front with them maxed out. Im currently running 19x8 +35 on the front with 225/40/19's. I would think these should go lower and not have any gap with 40 series tires.

So, I have a few questions... Is this the lowest that Megans will go or is there something I can do to lower the car more without damaging the coilovers?
Is this typical of all coilovers or is there another brand that will allow me to go lower?

I've included some pics to show the ride height. Even if I didn't want to go lower, I would think that coilovers should have the range or flexibility to practically slam the car on the ground.

I'm no expert when it comes to coils (just have h&r lowering springs) but that can't be right considering I don't even have that much wheel gap on my front axle. I can't remember which coils are supposed to go the lowest but you should still be able to get the car down more than where its at. I would do a search on the forum about k-sport coils to see if you can find anything on this sort of thing.
Car looks good though, will look really good once you get the front down to match the back. :bigthumb:

Thanks! I have been reading some good things about KSport coils and so far, I'm not seeing many complaints. I'm really frustrated about the ride height right now. If I can find a good deal on Ksports, I'll likely just swap them out and sell these megans.

It also looks like D2 may be a decent coilover...does anyone have ksport or d2 coilovers that could provide some helpful feedback on those or others??

My TEIN coilovers are the same way. It's maxed in the front and back. The back is almost flush with the rear tires, but there is still a little more space in the front.

I've seen a couple people mention clearance when you get lower in the front, depending on how wide the tire is, but 8 probably shouldn't present any problem I am assuming.

I believe the only way to make it go lower in the front or back is to remove one of the lowering plates. There should probably be two for each coil for adjusting. Once you remove one of those you will be able to lower it more. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

The stance is due to design to enable safe operation of the vehicle due to the added weight of the engine. Anything you do to alter the manufactures operational design of the coilover may cause significant damage to both your car's OEM suspension and coilover system.

It all depends. Tire size, wheel size, camber if you have it, offset, rolling or pulling fenders. It's all personal preference, stance or function.

Thanks all! Right now, I'm leaning heavily toward purchasing a set of D2 RS coilovers due to many people saying that they go the lowest and are still a decent product. Also, I haven't heard many issues with noises or performance.

I see several places on the web to purchase these from, all are around the same price. Is there any sites that you all prefer to use or any that I should stay away from for sure? Thanks again for all of your feedback.
