Plan on getting HE's but found out I can't use the stock 91 s13 wheels. I can't afford aftermarket wheels so what other coilovers can I get? Im short on money so I don't want to spend more than what the HE's cost. Maybe a strut/spring set up? Any wheel fitment problems with those? Has anyone got the suspension tech bushing set? Was it hard to install? How do I know if I need new tension rods? Should I just replace the t/c bushings instead of getting new adjustable ones? Sorry if these questions been answered but I got DIAL up! ahhh. wont have dsl for another 3 months. i have 203k miles so ALOT of stuff needs to go. Would I need new balljoints also?? Suspension work shouldn't be a problem but I just want to knock out the stuff I need to change while I am at it instead of changing it again a couple of weeks later...

1. All coilovers are going to have fitment issues with the stock wheels and tires. You need to get a 5mm spacer to run the HE's. Check http://www.pdm-racing.com for them.

2. I would suggest getting adjustable tension rods as this would give you adjustable caster. Which is one part of getting a car to handle well. I suggest SPL tension rods, awesome quality, I have a set, just not on my car yet. http://www.splparts.com

i can't find the wheel spacers on pdm. im looking forward to getting adjustable tension rods too. What else do I need? Are new control arms necessary? Should I even go with coilover since Im still a amature to autox? Has anyone changed all of the bushings? How long did it take you? I jacked up my car and pushed the top of all 4 tires and it seems like all the balljoints and wheel bearings are in good condition and no play at all. only thing i've noticed is that there is a crack where the power brace goes on. previous owner did a crappy *** job welding . I have to get that fixed professionally. i plan on getting

coilover or shock/springadj tension rodtein tie rod / endnismo powerbracesusp Tech swaysf/r pilot strut barsreplace all bushings

what else should I change? get adj rear camber arm or adj bushings? new tires of course....

I would get a coilover setup.

And that list you have is nice but I would add adjustable rear upper camber arms and adjustable rear toe arms.

You just need the arm... the bushing is replaced with a Heim Joint.

I would also look into a set of subframe spacers.

All of these parts can be found on SPL's website for good prices. I have alot of their stuff and I know them personally, and thus wholeheartedly stand by the product.

http://www.splparts.com is the website.

the stock s13 SE alloys clear HE's, the +38 thing was for a 6.5" wheel, the stock SE wheels are 6"...

man, does anyone know if d2 or ksport is going on a gb again? I want to get them bad! I can't believe I missed all the gb. anyways, so I don't NEED wheel spacers right? I have the stock SE 7 spoke alloy wheels and plan on getting new tires but don't know what size. Oh yea, does anyone else have that weird whining sound when the car is at a stop and then you turn the steering wheel? I don't need a new steering rack right? sure cost an arm and a leg. also, I believe my pass wheel bearing is going out. how do you know if the bearing is bad? how do you know if the ball joints bad?

edit: oh yea, I have a cracked to hell dust boot around one of the tie rods. could that cause my steering to not have enough grease so that's why it's whining when turning the steering wheel at a stop?

the whining is probably low power steering fluid, just pour some into the reservoir, you probably have a leaky hose. you can tell a wheel bearing is bad by jacking up the car and shaking the wheel, if it moves in a way it shouldnt while bolted to the hub, then you have a bad bearing. a ball joint is bad when its leaking the gooey fluid from inside, its good to replace those. i dont know about the dust boot though, i suggest replacement. :pface

well I check the reservoir all the time and it stays full. doesn't change at all. ok, I know my pass front wheel bearings are bad cause it shakes when i jack it up and wobble it. im just going to change both of them in the front. I read the fsm and it says that the rear bearings don't usually go bad. is this true? i'll have to check my bj's too.

hmm, your tie rods might be the source of your whining then. im not too sure about that one though. i dont know about the rear bearings not usually going bad, but it says it in the fsm so it must hold some truth. and checking you bjs? i have a couple friends who wouldnt mind helping with that:pface

i was going to use D2's but with my 2o5/5o's on stock SE alloys. Think they'll make it, or do i need to spend 2oo bucks on damn spacers?

i hear Ksport is made by the makers of D2, so i would assume their the same size, and would have the same clearance issues. However, some people tell me that the d2's will clear, and some say i need spacers
