So my Cucsco Coilovers are clunking when i steer at a slow speed.I jacked the car up and it seems like the spring is grinding on top of the coil, Metal to metal!I greased it and it was fine for a bit now its coming back.I need some sort of bushing right? Cause me rears have some but my fronts don't.So the question is where can i get bushings for the top where its grinding? I SEARCHED everywhere plus im not sure what its called Exactly any help would be great. My car already chirps when i turn & i dont want anymore uneccesary Noises coming from my suspension. Thanks

Coilovers are going to do that; end of story. It's the spring turning, there's nothing wrong with it. My PBM's do that all the time, I've grown accustomed to it.

I know the Spring is turning,Why cant it just turn on a Bushing and not Just grind against the metal? I'm sure i could get adjusted to it also but The car is my daily and its a bit embarrassing when your car is making Noises coming out of a parking spot.

Cause they didn't design it that way?

As for embarrassing, you drive a 240, it's not like it's a chick magnet. A 240 is going to make noise; end of story.

I believe the top on coilovers is supposed to be metal to metal, but the bottom is what has the bushing it sits on. Try lightening up the preload on the spring perch and give cusco a call to see if there really is bushings for the top.

SPLparts sells some of those washers, but they are listed for Swift springs.I'm not sure if they would work on Cusco coilovers though.

http://splparts.com/main4/index.htm

Go to S13/S14 -> Suspension -> Shocks/springs/coiloversThen go to the bottom of the page. The washers available have an inside diameter of 60 or 65 mm, if the inner most area where you springs perch are of that diameter, they should work. But don't take my word for it, I've never tried it.

Your coilovers are NOT supposed to do that, you dont have everything torqued down correctly.

Odd, we both have PBM, haha. Mine always have and so have MGE's. It's all I know, haha.

You probably have your preload set incorrectly. Look at the bottom of the shock housing and if the shocks coming out of the bottom, screw it back up into the housing and that will take care of your problem. Mine are almost flush with the housing...maybe a 16th of an inch is out of the bottom.

My front right coilover makes this noise, but not the LF. I see that the upper bushhing that looks like a flat piece of cheap plastic or rubber that is tearing and c ousing some metal-metal. I guess to replace it you would have to take it off and send it out. I think torque specs might be important. Unless you know them you could probably just call the compant and get the bushing, and do it yourself.
