Hey guys, I was wondering if you guys knew which coilovers have the exchangeable bottom pieces - part that mount strut to the spindle. I want to know this so I can decide if I can use that as a good way to mount the 300zx rear spindles onto my car and get coilovers (2 things w/ 1 stone type deal).

I know my friend's Integra coilover from K-Sport came w/ 2 different mounts at the bottom (most likely for cost effective purposes). Wondering if anyone can verify that w/ the 240 or any coilover for that matter. Like the d2's or megan racing ones?

THANKS!

You probably don't want to do it with d2's. It requires some shock-thread modification. And you won't be able to drop your car nearly as much.

See this thread: zerothread?id=77970

Also, I've heard that you can use z32 rear shocks on s13's. I don't know how true it is.. .but you might want to look into that.

Thanks, I probably won't then, haha.

So are d2's one of those coilovers w/ exchangeable bottoms? just making a list of those that are to help me out later.

It has an exchangeable bottom mount if by exchangeable you mean the threads will fit on each other. The z32 bottom mount will fit on the d2 shock, but you won't be able to put it on the car.. unless you cut off a few inches of threading.

oooo, i c what you are talking about now.

No, that's not what I was thinking about, but makes a lot of sense.

Basically, w/ the k-sports the very bottom piece actually screws out (the piece is the mount + about a few inches). When they shipped it to my friend, it came w/ both types of mounts at the bottom.

I will try to get a picture if i can find it.

KTS can be had with the Z32 rear for same price if purchasing a set or 95 for just the parts for the Z32

I'm having the same problem. I've been told that the JIC and the KTS coilovers have replaceable bottom mounts.

otherwise you're going ot have to buy 2 240 struts, and 2 300zx struts and 4 coils for the 240.

I think I'm going to go with the KTS kit though. it seems like the best for the money.

Yea, this is what I'm talking about:

Now I gots to find some people selling JICS or KTS, hahaha. It's something for down the road though, since I don't have wheels that will really clear coilovers yet.
