I bought a 240sx with KTS coilovers and when I turn my wheels from a stop (car not moving) they make a "BOING" sound like a coil spring on the back of a door in your house. I assume that it's just the coilovers twisting because of the wheel turning. Am I correct, or is this the sign of a problem?

Mint dont do that. I wander if the spring load is not enough and the perch is turning it.

Mine do this to. Usually when pulling in to my parking spot at work, I Make a sharp left in the parking lot then quickly go right into my spot. At that crossover it makes the noise. I've yet to explore what causes it.

My Fortune Autos used to do this. I adjusted the dampening settings to a few clicks softer and the sound went away.

Speaking of coilover sounds, do your make like a clunking sound like a metal to metal sound when coming out of a parking space or parking or whatever?

Mine don't "clunk" that I can hear. I just have the BOING sound. I have mine set on a 5 for damping (max is 15). I can try 3 or 4 to see what happens. I will check the preload on the springs also. I haven't gotten to that yet.

The top hats are binding, thus turning the spring. Spray some WD40 on where the dampener meets the top hat.

My KTS coils don't make a "Boing" sound but a very VERY loud "POP" when I hit a bump or a quick dip. It always comes from the rear driver side coil. They have been tightened and checked and rechecked, but the sound always happens. The ride quality sucks as well so I will never own KTS again. I called SPL parts and the details were very sketchy and I did what he told me to do and it still happens. He also said I could sent them in and he would adjust them, but I'm not going to pay shipping to send a coilover across country while my car sits. They were still under warranty. The phone call would have went somewhere if he had said, "I'm sending a replacement, I'll need your CC number to insure that we get the old one sent back. If it is not received within x, then your CC will be charged." That didn't happen, not a very good warranty if you ask me...
