coil pak

i have an s13 with an rb20 swap. the other day a friend and i noticed a coil pak sparking off the side of the block. do i need a new coil pak.

If its not the coil pack harness I would definetly say so.

Go to the Junkyard and find a Q45 and get the # 1 and 2 coils.Check out the Sticky FAQ section.

Just stick your meathook down there, you will find out in a hurry. New coil time.

Try wrapping the coilpack boot in electrical tape. The boot cracks because of the heat and the spark jumps through to the head. If that doesn't 'fix' your problem, you'll need a new boot. Probably easier to replace the entire coilpack. Search around, this happens to us all the time.

Don't wrap them in electrical tape, it'll melt into a sticky mess. Don't ask how I know...
