rb coils are a direct replacement...... beyond that I dont know much beyond stock replacements from your auto parts store or upgraded ones like bosche.

I just stock up on stock ones when people part out so I dont have to really think about it.

speaking of rb coils being direct replacement, which engine? rb20, 25, 26, or all?

All of them. I *think* the RB20 ones use the same plug, but I'm pretty sure most of them use a different type of plug, so you'll have to wire those in.

You will find that RB20 coils are the only direct replacement from the RB series..

My question is why you would replace a coil with one that may be 20+ years old..

Here is a link that will give you an idea of which nissan motors share the same coilpack..

I was only wondering because I saw something about those Splitfire coil packs for the RB motors. Figured they looked the same so they should work. Does anyone know about those splitfire coils anyways?

I made this same post for you on 240SXforums since I saw it there first, but here goes again:

IMO, just get new ones from Nissan.

They aren't that expensive, and they've actually updated to a newer coil spring design. Same part #, except the last 2 digits are 12 instead of 11. But just give them the part # on the coilpack, and they should be able to get it worked out.

There's also a way to convert over to Ecotec coilpacks, but I'd have to dig for it.

But seriously, just get new OEM units.

Thats a negative ghostrider. I just tried first hand. Held both a RB20 and CA Coil pack in my hand.

Here is a pic of both:

Notice the difference on the plugs!

I am going to pick up a DE Coil tomorrow and hopefully its the same.
