ok. so i think i will make a run of covers. as you guys saw before, mine that i made for my EDIS coil. i just finished up julians which is just straight up. we both have megasquirt. but im wondering about you folks with stock coil packs. some prefer vented covers.

give me some ideas. i have enough material to make a couple more. prices will be fair depending on how you want it. the one i made for julian which is just 8 holes would be 50+shipping. material isnt cheap these days. i know people arent really interested so im just making a couple. but if you guys really want them i can set up a type of group buy. you guys would have to pay a deposit (so i know your legit, and so i can buy material) and do it that way. i have the time, tools, and space.

top- stocknext- minenext- juliansnext- the one that i have ready to make and sell ASAP.

Hey GREAT to see someone finally come through on this.

How much for just a straight cover? Let me know at [email protected] if you don't mind. I have a GM coil setup so I don't really need it vented.

what material are you using? I would be interested in a vented cover if the price is right.

You guys need to pay attention more. Especially you Gabby, you asked him the same question in his previous thread.
looks good. aluminum? stainless?

its definately aluminum. but i dont have aim right now. im on my girls computer. but you will have to elaborate on the grounding part. i will only make one extra though. for you julian. because your the reason i got into this whole megasquirt bs in the first place. if i ever get on aim we'll talk business.
aluminum is metal right? shall I say I know more than just it is metal. It all has different thicknesses and will atleast given an idea of what I would be receiving as well as heat tolerances. I also can gauge the weight on shipping and in reality I can gauge what it would cost for me to do it on my own.

sorry If my question wasnt as in depth, guess I should ask the whole question instead of just "paying atteniton"

Being that grandpa owns one of the largest steal shops in the s/e..... I have learned a little. If they werent so full of work, I could have him fab some up for me, but to take his boys off a job is very expensive these days.

Glad you see it my way.

As for thickness has nothing to do with the type of Metal, quality is whats important, for example T6061 is mostly the grade of aluminum people use and is of higher quality but also bookoo bucks. I wouldnt be surprised if he used T6063.

If your concerned about heat then get a copper cover made as Copper is better for pulling heat away. One of the reasons why radiators are mostly copper, and the heatsink in your computer is usually copper.

If you looked at the pics he provided you will see that its about oem dimensions and sits flush with the rocker covers.

ok. so the actual material is i think 6061 aluminum about 1/4 inch thick. it sits flush with the rocker covers. like perfect. but there is some gap between the bottom of the plate and where it bolts into. nothing a few washers can't fix. i probably wont use any. its snug and it works. its high quality aluminum, its hefty, and pretty. like i said i can only make one or 2 right away but i want to know who and how many are interested. and most importantly how much you guys are willing to pay for a straight up cover (like stock). so try me. julians was free but he hooks me up and i heart him.

I don't really care for the dip where the vents are cut. I would just like to have the 3 vents on the cover. Either way would it be $100?

sweet so when things slow down have grandpa fab you up some non-ghetto intercooler piping that doesnt run underneath your chassis.
