Hello everyone i was wondering has anyone had this problem. My coil # 4 does not fire. I change the coil packs check all the wiring. Change the ignitor chip. Only thing that i did not change is the ecu. I need to to know what to do? what is the firing order? Can i jump the wires from coil # 1 to fire # 4 ? That is if they fire @ the same time? Someone give me some insight!

First off, S13 sr? Black/red top? S14 Sr??? If only #4 does not fire, I'd say a problem with wiring, I'd trace the wire back to the ecu, if you have a voltometer, do a continuity test.

check for continuity between the subharness connector at the ignitor to the coil packs, then from the ecu plug to the harness connector for the ignitor. If the continuity checks out, then I would consider a different ECU.

this is what i was leaning to because my friend has a black top i use his ignitor chip. It ran the same way! What really happened. There was a ground and power wire connected to the oxgen sensor. cause a short in the whole harness. i took out the harness repaired all of the damage checked continuity in all the wires. Can a circut that fires # 4 go bad in the ecu? Ha ve you ever seen this?

i've seen many wild things in the land of EFI. Ever wonder why a fuel pump doesn't turn on sometimes? One possible culprit could be the ECU has a fugged circuit and can't ground the pump (ask SeVa S13 about that one)

A bad circuit could easily cause this problem. That's why I would try to get a friend to loan you his ECU so you can check to see if number four starts to fire properly. If it does, you need to get yourself a new ECU

One last thing I just now thought of, and it's a fairly base question to ask, but it should be asked. Have you changed spark plugs? If you're just saying "well, number four plug has a ton of gas on it, so the number four pack isn't firing right" you may want to consider a new plug if you haven't changed the plugs since you got the engine (i always recommend putting new plugs in a motor that comes out of a junkyard)

Yes it took me a while. The ecu work perfectly. Thanks.
