coffee in shifter

i figured id ask on here about this minor issue. awhile ago, coffee got into the shifter, and the button gets a little stuck in the shifter sometimes. if i hit the top of the shifter, the button pops out again. how could i go about cleaning this so i dont have to attack my car anymore?

Hi Michelle!

I'm assuming you have an automatic, so you can pop out the button and clean it... Need a small screwdriver, just pry it up (gently).

Clean all around inside there, as well as the button. Should be an easy fix.
