What are you guys using to pull codes on the Z32. Since it's an older vehicle, doesn't the Z have a OBD1? So what's a good reader that's budget friendly? Kinda hard to trouble shoot without knowing what codes its throwing. Thanks guys!

Z32's prior to 1996 use OBD1, so you have to read codes directly from the ECU. Here's the how-to:

Additionally, you can use DataScan or DataVoice, or more expensively, Nistune.

You can buy the hardware necessary to read codes at a number of places, but they all pretty much seem to sell a variant on the options sold by Deal Extreme for just over $30 or so. There are even models for under $40 that use USB connections instead of the older style Serial ones that most people probably have now.

Unfortunately, the free software tends to range in quality from crap to unstable crap.
