Buyer beware! Consult required for all Infiniti ECU/TCU.

Some of those code readers just tell you to use the $.50 screwdriver they provide to turn the screw on the ECU, and then tell you to count the flashes on the LED on the ECU. You can accomplish the same thing without buying the reader and using the Factory Service Manual to identify the codes.

As Q45Tech said, the codes are just the tip of the iceberg... Consult is the proprietary service computer that Nissan uses on these cars. It is very expensive, but there's a close second in the various PC based software packages and interfaces.

There are a couple of threads in the Q45 Forum that discuss this topic.

I'm partial to the Blazt consult package because of the excellent customer service, despite the fact that they're in New Zealand. It's a few $$ more upfront for cable and software but those of us that use NissanDataScan are happy with it. Click on the NICO SPONSORS banner on the right side of the screen to get details on what Blazt has to offer.

I'm surprised PPastos hasn't spoken up since he just bought a consult cable. You do know that you can bring up the codes manually, with no software or cable, from the back of the ECU?

Congrats on 1800 post mike and sorry should have said something eailer.

You can go with Jason at Emance Technology for $44 You get this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...88131.

I can say that he has great customer support, But he takes a little bit because he says he is or was having family problems.

But he is using someone else software and calling it his own "OBD Scan Tech Nissan"

I would go with Emance if money is tight, But if you want great support an build quality go with Blazt.
