Code Question

currently i just got the code 32 which is EGR problems. i just installed a header and wrestled with the EGR valve. i took it to a auto perfomance shop to have it looked at, the EGR isnt crewed in all the way, theres like 3 threads showing, but feeling around it they said its not leaking, they checked for vacuum pressure, its there, they felt the hoses said its ok but could be damaged, should i replace the hoses? any other ideas?

it may be the accuator that is activated by the computer
