1997 infiniti we have replaced o2sensor but code still reappeared. have also cleaned plentum chamber, thottle body and checked egr all ok hav e checked for vacuum leaks and car runs smooth no misfire any help would be appreciated. used obd II scanner with freeze frame data have report printed out

According to this list of codes we have for the 95-99 Maxima/I30, the P0136 code indicates the rear O2 (post-cat). Here's adiagram of the O2 locations.

Since that code is for the rear (post-cat) sensor, and if you've already had that replaced; I'd say it's time to replace your catalytic converter. You should be able to get that done at any exhaust/muffler shop.

to just add another note to this post if anyone has a part out car we are told this same part came in 96-99 infiniti and maxima and used auto part places cant sell used catalytic converters so they just cut off and send in and this part goes to garbage with cat it is off the 3.0 liter v6
