Code P0420 and P0430 Stupid Nissan

So lately I've been having the check engine light come on with a code P0420 and P0430. I've reset the light a few times and sometimes it will take a week or 2 and sometimes it'll only last a few days before it comes on again.

Well I NEVER have anyone touch my vehicles but I don't have a Nissan consult so I had to take it to Nissan to see about getting the ECM reflashed. It’s the hardest thing for me to do because I can't do it myself.

Trying to explain the Service Bulletin to the service lady was a nightmare. She didn't know crap. Finally she got the service tech to come over to see if he understood what I was trying to explain. He kind of got it but was still an idiot. How hard is it to understand "Check the firmware version in the ECM with your consult and see if there is a newer version to replace it with."

In the end I shelled out $95 for them to tell me it wasn't my ECM and that I supposedly have the most up to date firmware in my ECM ,but they couldn’t tell me what firmware rev I had, and the CEL was on because my catalyst was BAD. BUT here's what gets me. I asked him to tell me the efficiency threshold data of the catalyst that would lead him to believe the catalyst is bad. He had no clue, deer in the headlight look. He told me he doesn't know because everything is working properly. He's just saying it's the catalyst because of the 2 codes I already give him, P0420 and P0430.

For $2361 they can fix it for me. I told them to give me my key back and paid them the $95. I figure it's just another reason never to let someone work on my vehicles.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do from here. Any Ideas?
