Code p0403 and p0409 pls help

Hi guys new to the nissan world
I have a pathfinder 2007 ti 2.5 diesel turbo and 2 months into owning
The car the check engine light came on I put the reader on it and code p0409 and p0403 both have something to do with the dreaded egr is it possible to clean it or just bite the bullet and buy a new one I read guys are just blocking them up wich sounds great but will that affect the motor or trigger a check engine light any help would be much appreciated im no mechanic but pretty handy is this some thing that I could do at home myself

Do some searches for "EGR", "evap", and "charcoal" in the Pathfinder/QX4 forum. This forum has seen its share of EGR problems, so it wouldn't be prudent of me to try to post links to all of them here Solutions have varied quite a bit and are subjective. For some folks, blowing out the lines and putting fuel filters on the lines to catch future charcoal chunks was all that was needed. Others have had to replace the entire system to hunt down the ghost.
