I went az Iand had this code pulled. It came back as an egr system error. Has anyone had to deal with the egr on these vehicles? Where is the egr on here? I have 2000 infiniti 4x4.

Umm is it the VG33E? The 3.3 motor? There is a solenoid on the front end of the driver side cylinder head with 3 vacuum lines to it. It's under the rubber intake boot pipe at the the throttle body. They (solenoid tits or vac lines) sometimes break, the solenoid can go bad electrically, etc. There is a labyrinth of brass pipes under the intake plenum and they are all pretty solid. The EGR diaphragm (brass colored round spaceship lookin thing) can get carbon build up and fail or it could be a ECM failure. The solenoid is about 100 bucks at Nissan/Infinity. Vac lines are cheap. ECM.. well you could imagine. If you have a 3.5 I'm not so familiar with that motor but could look up info if you need it. Good luck.

Ya...it's a 3.3. I work at LKQ so I'll just pull it from a pathfinder in the yard.

I'd try cleaning it out first. You can disconnect the negative battery terminal to clear any codes, but this also clears radio presets, clock, etc which can be an annoyance. If you have an Android smartphone, you can get an inexpensive $24 Bluetooth ODBII adapter and use Torque (a free version is available, or a 'pro' version with significantly more features is only $5) to clear the codes. If you're interested I'll provide a link to the ODBII adapter I recommend.

How can I clean it? And sure you can send me a link on the obdII. How do I use it with my phone and the Bluetooth?

I've never cleaned an EGR valve (my engine doesn't have one) but I'd guess you remove the valve and spray it out with brake cleaner or the like. Make sure the hose isn't clogged either.

This adapter is a good one. Basically, you plug the adapter in your vehicle's OBDII port, pair it with your phone over Bluetooth, then use Torque to interface with the car. Torque can pull and clear codes and read a lot of live data. Some vehicles have more sensors and such to read than others. I read & log coolant temp, engine timing advance, engine load, engine RPMs, intake air temperature, and speed (OBD and GPS).

Cool! Thanks bro! I'll be posting more mechanical fixs I need on this truck. This is my first truck ever that has 4x4. My sister had this truck and didn't take care of it so I'm doing all things to it that should have been done to it. So you'll be seeing a lot from me.

Ok. There's two of them that are free and made by the same person, Ian Hawkins. There's Torque lite and Torque scan, which one do I download?

Torque Lite will be sufficient for clearing codes and ensuring the adapter you bought will work with Torque and your Pathfinder properly. If you desire to use the more advanced features such as data logging, etc you can consider buying Torque Pro.

Do you think with this issue, this could be causing bad gas mileage? I'm gonna do a tune up first and thrn check gas mieleage. But will that scanner tell me my gas mileage as well?
