There should be lots of posts on this problem. It's been discussed many times.Try a search and you should find what you need.FYI, there are 4 O2 sensors on your rig. It's usually the down pipe sensors that fail. I would suggest if they've never been replaced that you get both of them done. If one goes, the other won't be far behind. You should also talk to your dealer about reflashing (re-programming) the ECU to prevent any future failings. It's a known problem.

Sorry for digging up an old thread but I currently have this issue on my 03 QX4 w/ 158k miles.

Code P0057 in bank 2 sensor 2

So this is an 02 sensor fix

Does anyone know rough estimate to repair this and get my CEL off?

Thank You!

Where do you recommend buying sensor from?

Does anyone else know ballpark estimate to have someone replace it?

Hi,
I had the same error code along with P0158 and even a P0420 earlier.

I ended up changing the Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Bank 2 on my car and all the codes were cleared and have not reappeared. I made a video to show how and where the O2 sensors are. It was relatively easy and I have listed the tools and parts I used under the description. [https://youtu.be/ByeYD8Puq5o]
It felt great saving some $$ by doing this myself. :BnB:

Hello Fellow Nico-nuts;

I bought a 2002 QX4 with 138,500 miles in January. I had it shipped from Cambridge, Ohio to Sunny south Florida. Fully loaded except the rear DVD. It even came with the original window sticker. Owned by one family. Really good condition, just some dings on the bumpers. All cars and people need to retire here! Anyways...I had my local shop basically rebuilt the brakes from bearings to rotors, calipers and drums from power stop. Then, a full tuneup with new plugs, hoses, belts, battery and filters. It came with 17" chrome wheels which after many years of salt and show needed to be replaced and uniroyal duellers, I'm ready baby!

The check engine light was on when the Q was delivered from Ohio. They changed the downstream O2 sensor. The light still didn't go out when I picked it up. After a few days, I brought it back. Finally, it was ready. The engine light was out and I was a happy puppy.

Then the T mobile hot spot that plugs into the OBD indicated that the P0158 & P0057 came up as an issue. The check engine light did not come on. The car runs fine, the brake pressure finally got stronger, (wish they would have told me that it takes time to build up the pressure on a new braking system).

Why didn't the check engine light not come on when my OBD from t Mobile and the Carsoft MB11 that I just bought for my Benz also showed the codes? I'd hate to think that the service station would have defeated the engine light signal.

They can't defeat the system .. the 02 pathfinders/ Q's had a firmware problem that allowed the O2 heaters to stay on too long .. depending if and when yours was upgraded.. they may be finally failing. Its an easy fix .. but you need the proper sensors because the wires are very long.

The drum brakes on the Path are a pain .. I have had mine rebuilt may times (the rear cylinders) .... my least favorite part of the car, They don't require ant time to build up pressure ... have no idea why anyone would tell you that ?

Hello, thank you for the reply. This is a reputable shop in N. Miami Florida, Fox Automotive. They've done thousands of repairs. I had everything replaced except the master and booster. They had to recut the drums because they were clicking. I'm going back to ask them to replace these 2 sensors. I'll let you know how it goes.

I also have 2 open recalls, one is a steering corrosion issue. I need to head over to my local Infiniti service center. I wonder if they can do the modification to turn the fog lights on independently that I saw here. Would love to have that option.
I would also love to replace the seats with MB seats. Just dreaming on that one.

If anyone out there in NICOLAND can read a VIN : JNRDR09Y12W252680
