Well i got code 55 and it still runs rich as hell and doesnt want to rev smoothly. Dee said majority of the time its the wiring so I took out the whole engine harness and went through it, fixed a few connections but nothing major. Im juststuck right now on what I should do next. Ryan, Dee, anyone, your help is appreciated greatly.

hows the fuel pressure? and the ignitor? your spark could be breaking up under load. think you could describe the problem a little better?

Timing belt is on good, the ignition timing is messed up. I have to advance the timing with the CAS just to get it to rev half way decent. But yet still runs rich. Im gonna go check the fuel pressure now.

better get that timing straightened out, its most likely your problem

if you dont get around 14 degrees at between 750-850 rpm, you got problems.

is the half moon on your CAS ok? check it, your CAS could be screwed and causing your timing to wander around. If thats not it, check timing belt thoroughly

Wouldn't logic suggest that if you had to push your timing all the way to the max, and its still not where its supposd to be that maybe your exhaust cam timing is off a tooth or two? Just a suggestion.

how are the splines on your exhaust cam and CAS. if those are now square then that would cause you timing to wander aronud a bit. check that out.

Not always! Every now and then we have someone come onto the forum or with problems like timing not advancing which leads to high egts and a pathetically lazy engine. I once experienced this and it got so frustrating until I changed to a standalone engine management system. Now that's a bit extreme and don't recommend going this route unless you have the funds and have someone who's competent enough to teach you the basics of tuning.

Code 55, cam timing is spot-on (timing markers are lining-up properly), crank angle sensor is good, then you can start looking at wiring, belt driven accessories (could be dragging) or (get this one) low output from your charging system (Insufficient voltage to critical parts), Bad ecu (they can have issues and still give you a code 55), and last but not least, timing belt is too tight (check idler pullies and timing belt adjustment tension). Fuel pressure is the least to worry about, but don't rule it out as well.
