If anyone remembers a newb back in Sept. with A 94 Q that wouldn't out accelerate a ford escort - no more.

After almost 6 yrs of ownership, thousands in parts, and hours of blood sweat and tears, I can finally report at 7:15 this morning Code 55 showed up.

Remember the mechanic I spoke about (my buddy!) who should have done the KS 2 yrs ago? Turns out he never cracked the plenum,

I only found this out because I finally decided to change the KS harness - just to rule that out. Of course when you start at the plenum you can immediately tell if anyone has been in there.

Turns out no one had. Both KS were cracked one down the middle and on both sides! Imagine how PISSED I was

Happy ending My KS are done All new hoses harnesses Even pintle caps for my injectors. I know it was done this time! No one else will ever touch this car again as long as I own it - except for new tires and alignments!

Thank you brothers of the Q! I would not have eagerly tackled this if it were't for you! I'm going to go and burn more rubber now!Marcus

Very nice marcus, glad to hear it... Im getting to the point where if you dont have a friend or mechanic who can be trusted to work on the Q (maybe a handful of people in every time zone?) then they are probably too much hassle to own.... A true shame, because once theyre sorted theyre wonderful cars.

They won't be. This is the final run.

Owners don't let buddies work on their cars unless he is a NICO buddy.

Heh, I'm all for going the cheap and easy way to keep my Qs going. I had one knock sensor out on my '93 Q, so I did the right thing and spliced the two knock sensor wires together at the harness so the computer would think both were good Now, the other one is bad so it's time for more drastic measures. But I'm NOT gonna dive back into that plenum (be a different situation if I had an air conditioned shop... hopefully by this winter I'll get one built). Sooo, I have the KS harness from my parts Q and I'm gonna get 2 sensors, bolt them to somewhere on the motor easily accessible, and call it good. Won't be as sensitive as down in the valley, but I ain't goin there until it needs something else there.

Say it aint so! There must be a way to get my hands on a Nico ecu especially that I have $ to play.

Is there a poor soul out there that just doesn't want theirs anymore or maybe one on the bottom shelf under the pile of dirty rags that got overlooked?

Are the ones in this final run all accounted for?
