what do i need to do to fix this , the detonation sensor is connected , and i dont think im denotating , im about ready to send my car off to be finished , ive spent the last six months on this car and its still giving me problems , i want to set it on fire that would be very entertaining at this point

trust me, setting your car on fire is not fun, it will only set your project back even farther, ive been there:-). you may want to talk to the guys on the skyline forums.

what kind of gas are you running?

what is your timing at?

what spark plugs?

i would pull the plugs and check for signs of detonation to be sure.

well my friend said it wasnt detonating , ive never heard a car do it so i dont know what it sounds like and i dont know what the symptoms of it are , but my friend ,who knows what he is talking about said it wasnt detonating , btw what are the signs of detonation

My friends RB25 dose this too. We thought it was the Knock sensor harness cause his was missing. we installed my extra 20 ones and they pluged right in and he wired them up to the ECU. Still no dice. His car runs like A$$ got taken out by a 99 GSR on the FWY with me in the car. Then if we switch cars He beats the GSR with me in it. no where near the power output.

you may never know it is detonating while its doing it. sometimes in rare occurances you can hear it but never rely on that for a true sign. spark plugs are the best indicator. they will have white specs all over them.

knock sensors are microphones which pick up a certain frequency and listen for pinging. most sensors can pick up knock before it becomes "audible" knock. you definitely want to know when your engine is knocking before it becomes audible.
