Code 34 = detonation sensor

So i just checked the trouble code that my ECU is spittin out. Its throwing out code 34 which is the Detonation sensor circuit.. i here that is cause by a bad knock sensor.. whats a knock sensor and is that the only thing that could cause code 34???

Thiat link best explains it.. .I've changed out like 4 of them on maxima and 1 of a s14. S14 sensor was cracked itself..car felt sluggish in the upper rpms until it was fixed. It's a pita to change out located under the intake manifold on the side of the block.

damn i have been off the site for a couple days and just ordered one from Florida.. wish i would have known i would have takin the one off your hands 480.... quick question, if my knock sensor is bad does it automatically put my car into "safe mode" ??? everyone is talking about the whole safe mode thing and my car has been runnin like crap for a few weeks... (KA24DET 7psi and got beat buy a stock honda )
