hi all i am a new owner of a 1990 300zx na 5 speed w t tops!

i have had the code 34 and im pretty sure its something in the wiring from the ecu to the ks. i have dont the resistor trick at the end of the ecu wire clip and still nothing. so regardless i was getting irritated and bought a new ks and sub harness today. after putting it in, the 1990 300zx n/a is still the same, so now im almost positive its the cord from the ecu to the ks. my curiosities are..
what kind of wire should i pick up to replace pin 23? also do i just pull out the entire pin, buy a new pin soder the wire in and push it back in? or do i cut and splice the wire from 23 at the base and splice the new wire in and run it up to the fire wall?

i know there is supposed to be a ground wire tied in to that single wire from the ecu somewhere would i just splice a new ground wire in and ground it somewhere in the engine? :wtf2:

i am not completely opposed to the resistor trick at the ecu, its just i cant find any pictures or a good write up on how exactly its done. also i would like my ks to somewhat work, since i bought a new one ha. if anyone could help me with this id feel so thankful.

this is my first 300 and its a project, ive always wanted one!
thanks guys

The break in the wire may be at the plug. If you notice, there is a lot of tension on the harness, and the wires are bent right above the plug.

So, cut the wires at the plug, solder in about 2 inches of extension and reuse the pins/plug, or install a new one if you can. Or eliminate the plug by soldering the wires from harness directly to the wires from new sensor.

If that doesnt work, then you can run new wire through the firewall.

So what you're saying a pull the wore out of the pin put a new extension wire in there a d solder the extension to the wire I pulled? Doubts dumb but if you had a picture or something you can draw up would help me a lot

I tried to edit that post^^ but it wouldnt let me, my phone is kinda laggy and is auto correcting everything :/

Do you have any pictures or can you draw up something so that I can understand better? Also if I do run a new wire, what type of wire do I run?

here is a pic of the wire in the ecu do i just cut it 6 inches from the pin start a new wire? do i pull it from the terminal, put another wire in there to ensure a good connection at the ecu and soder the oem wire to that?

does anyone have a good picture of what jumping it with a 1mohm resistor should look like?
I'm almost willing to take any route by now just to get it smogged and registered! like i said i just bought it

I meant cutting the wire at the connector on the engine.

I just want to jump it at the ecu because I suspect that cable is busted somewhere. Would I just pull the wire from the terminal solder a small wire to one end of the resistor then cram that end into where the old wire was , then ground the other side of the resistor
